About the Artist
Sandra Iafrate
Sandra Iafrate returns to Byrne Gallery with a new body of work inspired by the richness of late-summer fields, abundant tables, and the traditions that bring people together.
Working in painting, mixed media, and installation, Sandra Iafrate creates richly layered compositions that combine painting with expressive mark-making, antique maps, vintage textiles, weathered book pages, and botanical imagery. She also composed live still lifes that celebrate the seasonal harvest. Drawing inspiration from the still-life tradition, her work invites viewers to reflect on the stories, rituals, and shared experiences that shape our lives.
Iafrate has exhibited internationally in the US, Canada, Australia and Europe, including the Toronto Artist Project, Art Expo New York, Amsterdam International Art Fair, and the McLean Project for the Arts. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)
