Anne Manley

Anne’s work includes paintings ranging from small, intimate works, to large format paintings since she believes the kind of beauty she tries to capture feels different when viewed across this extensive scale. Sometimes beauty reveals itself to us in small simple forms. At other times, it is reflected in a vast and broad spectrum of color, light, and shadow; all are a gift.

Anne Marchand

“Space, color and mystery are calling cards to begin the work of layering the materials on canvas.” Anne Marchand works with spontaneous action to combine themes of spirit and matter and in conveying a depth of meaning through transparent layers. The painting process is metaphor for the natural and invisible forces that shape human perception and experience. Marchand explains, “I am drawn to images that open the viewer to questions about personal experience, consciousness and transformation.”

Anne Stine

Anne Stine is known for her mixed media nature-themed paintings. Her chosen medium is encaustic, a fluid medium using wax. Layering pigmented beeswax, natural resin and dry pigment followed by fusing it all together with the intense heat of a blowtorch onto wooden panels, she creates surfaces rich in complexity, color, and texture. She feels this particular method most accurately captures the dynamic ebb and flow of her composition.

Edward Ugo

Edward Ugo is a contemporary artist specializing in geometric abstraction and hard-edge painting. His work is created by manipulating geometric forms and abrupt transitions of color area. Edward’s true passion for color drives the narrative for his work. Today, he spends his days creating vibrant paintings and mixed media art in his studio.

Carolyn Marshall Wright

Carolyn is a favorite of the Byrne Gallery. She is a signature member of the Virginia Watercolor Society, a member and past president of Potomac Valley Watercolorists and a frequent exhibitor in juried exhibitions in the Mid-Atlantic region. Her work is displayed in the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, the World Bank, and in various private collections around the world. Carolyn’s paintings are an emotional response to the world and, in turn, evoke a positive and enduring emotional response in the viewer. Her work is infused with both strength and a sense of playfulness, evidenced by expressive mark-making and bold use of color.
